Gold delivered in February rose 0.71 percent to Rs 50,870 per 10 grams.

  • Gold was trading up 0.58% at $ 1,919.60 an ounce in New York.
  • Silver was trading 0.64% higher at $ 27.22 an ounce in New York.

On Thursday, speculators strengthened their hold on the demand for gold in the futures market, due to which gold prices rose by Rs 361 to Rs 50,870 per 10 grams. On the other hand, silver also rose by Rs 312 to Rs 69,729 per kg due to strong demand in futures trade.

Rise in gold prices
Gold delivered in February rose by Rs 361, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 50,870 per 10 grams, with a turnover of 8,999 lots on the Multi Commodity Exchange. Gold was trading up 0.58% at $ 1,919.60 an ounce in New York.

Silver price rise
Silver for the March delivery rose by Rs 312, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 69,729 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange, with a turnover of 14,210 lots. Silver was trading 0.64% higher at $ 27.22 an ounce in New York.

There was an increase on Wednesday
On Wednesday, the price of gold delivered in February at the Multi Commodity Exchange rose by Rs 60, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 51,780 per 10 grams, with a turnover of 10,292 lots. At the same time, silver for the March delivery on the Multi Commodity Exchange rose by Rs 193 or 0.27 per cent to Rs 71,051 per kg, with a turnover of 16,013 lots.
